Elisabeth and Andrew were married on a warm and breezy June day at the Missouri Botanical Garden surrounded by all their fun-loving family and friends. They had met several years ago through mutual friends, and their romance thrived in spite of several years on long-distance dating. It was a case of opposites attract - Elisabeth describes herself as pragmatic with an unrelenting faith in to-do lists and Andrew as an abstract thinker with a flair for exaggeration and drama. Evidence of the truth of this description was everywhere that day - Elisabeth herself cheerfully planned this relaxed and charming wedding with the help of her competent mother, and Andrew ruled the dance floor with like showman-like skill.
The wedding day began with Elisabeth and her five bridesmaids at her parents’ home which is filled with old family mementos and surrounded by a charming garden. Laughter filled the rooms as the Elisabeth and her bridesmaids helped each other get ready. There was simply no stress at all in the atmosphere - a real tribute to the bride who planned this wedding from another city. She looked lovely in her Ramona Kaveza gown under which she wore a garter hand smocked for her by her mother. The bridesmaids pretty dresses (Jenny Yoo) were complemented by their elegant necklaces also hand-crafted by Elisabeth’s mother.
Elisabeth’s parents are avid gardeners, making the Missouri Botanical Garden a natural choice for the wedding. Jane Winters from Wildflowers supplemented its natural beauty with lush bouquets of white and pink roses. The thermometer claimed the temperature was 99 degrees outside. But the light breeze and the sight of Andrew’s beaming smile proved an effective distraction – especially as his beautiful bride glided down the aisle on her father’s arm.
The celebration continued with an evening of impressive dance moves inspired by Andrew and their fun band, Spectrum. Cravings did a fabulous job with Elisabeth and Andrew’s wedding cake, and ice cream by Ices Plain and Fancy provided a perfect treat for this warm summer evening. It is easy to see that joy and laughter (and practicality) of this day will follow Elisabeth and Andrew forever.
Congratulations Elisabeth and Andrew!
