I knew after I spent an afternoon driving around Colorado National Park last spring photographing Kaitlin and Dave for their engagement session that their wedding would be lots of fun and very easy to photograph. We had so much fun talking as we drove around the mountains that I hated to leave - it would have been great fun to stay up late and share a bottle of wine with them. They wanted their wedding to be a relaxed fun day for everyone to enjoy, and it really was, in spite of the rain. They brought their own sunshine with them.
The wedding day itself could not have been more relaxed between their well-organized wedding planner, Keby Enlo, and their fun-loving family and friends. Father John Shamleffer, an old family friend and priest, came back to Ste. Genevieve du Bois Catholic Church to perform the wedding ceremony in the church where Kaitlin had grown up. Kaitlin’s bright eyes shone as she said her vows, and Dave was clearly loving every minute of it. Following the ceremony, between rain storms, we did all of the formal photographs at the beautiful garden of more dear old friends, the Spences.
The reception that followed at Algonquin Country Club was filled with even more dear old friends and family who were all ready to have a good time. A huge buzz filled the club from the beginning - it seemed like everyone knew each other. After a lovely dinner and great toasts, the crowd spread out all across the club - some chatting and catching up and others dancing enthusiastically to the sounds of The Dirty Muggs Band. It was a great party.
Congratulations Kaitlin and Dave - it is easy to see what a happy future you will have together!!
