One of the beautiful things about a winter wedding is that sometimes you get a lovely blanket of snow to add to the day’s beauty. As Mariam and Matt learned, however, even the most tranquil snowfall can also add an element of unpredictability to a special day.
But all’s well that ends well – and that was definitely the case at this brilliant couple’s Valentine’s Day wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel here in St. Louis.
I adored Miriam’s Monique Lhuillier wedding gown – it fit her to a tee, and the bridesmaids in their Adrianna Papell gowns were very glamorous. Matt was looking particularly dapper in his tux from Hugo Boss as well. Together, they seemed ready-made for the flowers by Tina Barrera from The Special Event Florist and the natural wintry wedding backdrop created by Simcha Events, their ever-resourceful wedding consultant. Simcha, in fact, got the opportunity to demonstrate just how valuable a resourceful – and well-connected - wedding consultant can be. At 2 p.m. on the afternoon of the wedding, the family learned that the Nashville band booked to play at the reception had gotten stranded in the aforementioned snowstorm and would be unable to make it.
Unfazed, Simcha dug into her little black book and found the personal phone number for Griffin and the Gargoyles (one of my favorite bands in St. Louis!) Hours later, they were on stage, making it possible for Miriam and Matt to dance the night away. The tender feelings this couple have for one another were apparent all evening, as was the strong love of the families and friends there to make this a Valentine’s Day none will soon forget.
Congratulations Miriam and Matt!!
