I had been looking forward to Katie and Michael's wedding ever since our first meeting last winter. Katie has one of those smiles that that lights up the whole room and makes everyone around her as excited as she is. Her joy and enthusiasm was so infectious as she talked about her wedding plans, that I knew two things right away - that Michael really had to be a real prince and that I was going to have lots and lots of fun photographing her wedding. I was not disappointed.
Theirs was a case of love at first sight - the two of them first met at a sorority formal in college, had their first date the next night, and have been together ever since. According to the best man's toasts, when Michael first saw Katie, he told his friends that her smile would light up a billboard, and when his friends met her, they all told him that he was right – it did belong on a billboard. Katie's first thought is always how to bring more joy into other people's lives. Michael is all around good guy, and you can tell by the way that he looks at Katie that he will do everything in his power to make sure that life never disappoints his sweet and bubbly wife. It is easy to see that this couple will cherish each other all of their lives.
The wedding day was Katie's dream come true. With hair and makeup by the Danielle Erb, she looked beautiful in a custom gown by Ramona Keveza. Her bridesmaids blush pink gowns by Amsale were perfectly accented by lush bouquets of pink and white peonies designed by Bloomin' Buckets Floral Design. The ceremony at The Shrine of Saint Joseph went off without a hitch, and afterwards we followed Katie and Michael in their 1954 vintage Rolls (Champagne Limousines) and their wedding party to Katie's high school Alma Mater, Villa Duchesne and then to Forest Park.
The beautiful ballroom at the Missouri Athletic Club was perfectly accented by dramatic lights from Millennium Productions and the delicate crocheted lace tablecloths from Weinhardt Rentals made a perfect backdrop for the Bloomin' Buckets beautiful flowers. Katie and Ryan had chosen the Ralph Butler Band so that they would have an energized and lively party for all of their friends, and as you can see from the photographs, he did not disappoint them. This was a fun, as well as a heart warming wedding!
All the best to you both!
