Amy and Daniel got married on a beautiful summer day at Our Lady of the Pillar surrounded by their large and loving families and all their closest friends.  Although their wedding day was a perfect one, it wouldn’t have matter to them if it hadn’t been - this was a couple getting married in order to be married.  They met each other on the first day of their freshman year at Princeton University and were close friends for two years before they began dating.  Once you meet them it is easy to why they fell in love - both of them are very fine and thoughtful people who while they are self-effacing, love to have fun.  They are the products of two wonderful families to whom they are very attached.

The wedding day could not have been more relaxed thanks to their calm but very competent wedding planner, Kristin Weis.  Amy got ready in the house where she had grown up surrounded by all her best friends from Princeton as well as her sister, both mothers, and her two adoring grandmothers.  The soft natural light that filled the house made it easy for Jeana from Dominic Michaels to arrange their hair and for Emily Miller to do their makeup as well as a pleasure for me to photograph.  Amy looked gorgeous in her gown by Modern Trousseau from Fleur de Lis here in St. Louis, and her bridesmaids were totally charming in the coral dresses from Bella Bridesmaid.

The church where Amy and Daniel exchanged their wedding vows looked beautiful with the bouquets of white hydrangeas arranged by Poppies on the pews.  After the ceremony we returned to Amy’s home to do all of the posed photographs in their backyard where Amy’s mom had spent so much time the year before planting flowers for the upcoming wedding.  The beautiful ballroom at Bellerive Country Club was perfectly accented by dramatic lights from Exclusive Events and charming pink and white floral arrangements designed by Poppies.  After cutting the pretty cake designed for them by The Cakery, Amy and Daniel sat down for heartfelt toasts from their families and friends.  The toast that everyone will remember was given by Amy’s dad Chris toast who choked up talking about how much in love he still was with his lovely wife Ann.  The dancing that followed was especially fun thanks to Griffin and the Gargoyles who kept all the guests, but especially the bride and groom, on the dance floor all night long.  My youngest daughter Julie who I am now training was sighing all the way home about how the bride and groom were gazing into each other’s eyes singing to each other for at least SIX songs.  She is so hoping to find true love herself one day.
