Dani and Eric were married on the rainiest Saturday in April, but I shouldn’t have worried about it - they certainly weren’t. And no wonder - they brought their own sunshine with them. Both of them were hilarious - they see humor everywhere, so much so that they could barely be serious. They cracked up even when they kissed. And they just couldn’t stop having fun. Not even getting the hem of her dress wet for posed pictures (so the right decision - her formal pictures were gorgeous) or tearing her dress on the dance floor bothered Dani, and Eric was just as much fun. He kept dipping Dani throughout the day, and then they would both crack up because the perfection of these dips was a huge private joke between them. I am sure they had LOTS of laughs while learning how to do them. All they cared about was getting married and having a great party afterwards. Their dancing was wonderful, hilarious, goofy and adorable. Honestly, the dimples say it all about this wedding.
Danielle Style's gifted staff did the hair and makeup for all the ladies during a leisurely morning. Kathleen from Cosmopolitan Events made the whole day flow smoothly in spite of the rain. Dani’s looked absolutely lovely in her beautiful gown by St. Patrick with a veil designed by Connie at R&M Designs, and the pink bridesmaids by Dressy added a pretty splash of color to the entire wedding day. Barb at Bloomin' Buckets created the gorgeous springtime bouquets and arrangements at the church and the reception. The beautiful cake was created by Sarah's Cake Shop which looked so pretty in the Starlight Room at the Chase Park Plaza.
Grace, my very talented daughter (and technology mentor!), flew in from San Francisco to help photograph this wedding because she had so much fun doing Dani and Eric's engagement session in California. She helped me finally master the ins and outs of using a remote flash for the dancing photos - a complicated trick, but it worked so well with the fun party atmosphere already created by Aries lighting. And, a big thanks to Galaxy Red whose music kept everyone on the dance floor.
What I remember the most about this wedding was how the grandfather made everybody do a sing-along for his toast. He was the life of the party; and it is clear that Dani is just like him, and that someday her husband will be the one getting up to conduct a sing-along. It is equally clear that Dani and Eric will never fall out of love with each other because they have a joy that they share every time they look in each other’s eyes. And they will pass that joy onto their children, and weave a life of laughter together. Eric’s dad jokes will be amazing.
Dani and Eric are so sweet. I just loved them. May God never give them sorrow. May they have a lovely life filled with that joy, and live happily ever after.
