I had been really looking forward to Anne-Marie and Jimmy’s wedding because I still remember just how much fun I had photographing Anne-Marie sister’s wedding a few years ago. From the moment I met Anne-Marie, I knew that hers would be just as much fun. Her mother described her as a “no fuss” bride who really just wanted a simple, laid back wedding. According to her incredibly talented makeup artist Danielle, and the wonderful hairdressers at the Stonewater Spa, all of her bridesmaids were just as low maintenance. As Anne-Marie herself would tell you, the only thing important to her that day was getting married to the man of her dreams. When she talks about Jimmy she describes him as “low-key, very dedicated, dependable, reliable, faithful, and very patient.” With a husband like that it’s no wonder nothing else mattered to her!
The wedding took place on a sunny January day at St. Clements Catholic Church where Anne-Marie and Jimmy were surrounded by their friends and two large extended and very gregarious families. Kathleen, her totally competent wedding planner from Cosmopolitan Events made sure that the entire day was stress free. Caroline Kelsey’s beautiful bouquets of white lilies provided the perfect compliment to the stained glass windows of the church and to the bridesmaids’ navy dresses. Anne-Marie couldn’t have looked more beautiful in her gown from Town and Country Bridal and Jimmy couldn’t have looked more happy to see Anne-Marie walk down the aisle. The reception that followed at Algonquin Country Club looked like a winter wonderland with Caroline Kelsey’s sumptuous white bouquets accented by soft candle light.
It’s obvious from the photographs just how close and fun-loving both the families are. After the wedding Anne-Marie told me that her only regret was that she had so much fun dancing that she never made it to the late-night snack bar. She spent all night having so much fun dancing with her hilarious aunts, uncles, cousins and parents that she never left the dance floor. My daughter, Julie, who was my assistant that night, even snapped a photo of me dancing with ther wild and crazy father. All of the guests had a great time with the feather boas, but none more so than Anne-Marie as she sashayed around the dance floor. And every time Jimmy looked at her, his eyes twinkled.
Congratulations to you both - it is easy to see what a happy couple you will be!
