Seldom does a photographer have the pleasure of watching a young lady grow up, capturing life’s special moments as she moves from one white dress to another. I am fortunate to have had just this experience with Julie – photographing her first in her christening gown, later in her Fleur de Lis gown and now in her wedding gown. Witnessing these milestones and making a beautiful record of them for posterity is truly one of the most wonderful jobs a person can have.
And that is not all. Tim, the handsome young man Julie danced with at the Fleur de Lis Ball, is the same handsome young man she exchanged vows with on a recent beautiful fall day. In so many ways, these high school sweethearts and their adoring family have changed very little. Their joy was apparent from the moment Julie’s father walked her down the aisle at the Church of the Annunziata.
Julie was the picture of elegance in her strapless, fit-and-flare Anne Barge gown. Her six lovely bridesmaids’ looked equally stylish in short ivory gowns by Bella Bridesmaid. With hair by Elan, makeup by Dominic Michael and flowers from Ken Meisner, the entire wedding party looked Bride Magazine-worthy.
After vows were taken, the party moved on to Bellerive Country Club, where consultant Barbara Hoover worked her magic to create a classic and fun-filled evening. Encore Baking did a fabulous job of reflecting the simple beauty of the day’s style into the couple’s wedding cake, and the talented band, Spectrum, kept the dance floor packed the entire evening. Before you knew it, Julie and Tim were heading off into the sunset in their bedazzled “Just Married” golf cart.
All in all, it was a perfect day for a darned cute couple. I wish them all the best in what I expect will be a long and happy marriage.
